Probably what suprised me most was just the sheer quantity of similarities. I didn't think the Christian faith was very similar to the Native American faith at all before I read them. It's kind of interesting--it starts you thinking how if God is the ultimate Truth, it makes sense that He would have revealed himself to all sorts of different cultures in time and place in different ways, but the origial message stays in tact. I didn't know that Native Americans believed in only one God, I kind of assumed that they were polytheistic, but I guess they just work on seeing God in everythiing and everyone, like the concept of "Namastae" (sp.?). It was also neat that they have "angels" as well.
